The purpose of life is to give it away.”
STRETCH CENTER FORT GRATIOT + LIVE BIG & LOUD
In 2019 I had the pleasure of being the therapist to a very special soul. He was diagnosed with Parkinson’s at the age of 50, but his determination, humor, and resilience were something that I had never experienced. My mission began that day—to provide support and HOPE to him and others suffering from Parkinson’s Disease. David Moran and his family will forever be credited with turning a vision into a life purpose.
We have certifications with LSVT BIG & LOUD, PWR! Moves, Pedaling for Parkinson’s, and Assisted Stretch Therapy combined with networking with Michigan Parkinson Foundation, Kirk Gibson Foundation, and the Stretch Center Midland for resources. Our local affiliations with the Council on Aging and Lake Huron Medical Center cemented our presence in St. Clair County. Stretch Center Fort Gratiot is our latest component, and though it was developed for neurological disorders, it has become a benefit for ALL— looking to improve their flexibility, balance, posture, circulation, and pain management.
Along with my husband & partner, we have created a Parkinson’s community here in our small county. Our services benefit the physical health of our clients with exercise, stretching, and Speech Therapy. Mental health is also addressed with our support groups, led by MPF Mentors, education programs for newly diagnosed individuals, and for medical professionals.
Placed on Purpose Counseling also provides its services at our center, which completes our Wellness vision.
With Hope & Love,
Lori & Brent Marquardt
